Vitamin D3
Traditionally, Vitamin D has been associated simply with aiding the absorption of calcium for bone support, yet a huge amount of recent research has indicated that a deficiency in vitamin D can be linked to a multitude of systemic diseases.
Vitamin D, also known as the sunshine vitamin is difficult to obtain from our diet, but primarily sourced from skin being exposed to sunlight. As we know, our autumn and winter months rarely offer us the opportunity to generate vitamin D, which is why many experts believe most people are deficient in D3.
It is believed that 1 in 5 people suffer from the condition of seasonal affective disorder (S.A.D), a condition where people feel below par due to the lack of sunlight. The actual cause of this condition is potentially related to vitamin deficiency.
Furthermore, studies suggest deficiency in D3 can often result in reduced immunity levels; hence the reason why people suffer with colds and flu during darker months.

Hi Lise,
Good to see you giving some promotion to vitamin D, I can say that it’s also been shown to help with the gut so if candida is an issue it might be worth giving vitamin D a shot, many have reported great improvements in mental health after taking vitamin D.
