Posture

Everyone says slumping and slouching is bad for your health. But do you really know how important posture is and how many pains may be caused by bad posture? We see so many people not holding themselves properly and over the years the spine may become misaligned. This will cause the muscles and ligaments to be under stress and can become strained and painful.

Slumping and slouching also reinforces tiredness, feeling low and non-confident. Just try to sit in your chair and slouch. It really doesn’t make you feel good. Everything becomes restricted – even your breathing becomes shallower. Stand up as straight as you can, push your chest forward and look upwards and forwards. This will improve both appearance and health. And you may feel better just for doing that!

If you need a helping hand changing your posture as it’s almost like your body has adapted to this way of moving, often The Bowen Technique can help. We may need to work on the PSOAS and you can do certain exercises to strengthen the PSOAS and your posture.
