Are you on steroids?

Steroid-induced diabetes
Steroids are anti-inflammatory drugs and can be life-saving. Unfortunately, many people stay on them, after the initial period when they do a necessary job. Later the side-effects can be devastating. Too many people are not told about the possible side-effects and steroid-induced diabetes is a common side-effect. The drugs raise your blood sugar as it mimics cortisol which is your body’s stress hormone. Steroids may be given for asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and as we’ve said before the procedure for putting you on these drugs works very well but there doesn’t seem to always be a procedure for coming off them again which is just as important. This is not a drug you want to take long-term!!
